Booking notice
Refund Policy
When booking with CRM Student Accommodation, you will be required to pay a booking deposit. Payment of the deposit indicates your agreement to reserve the deposit in accordance with these terms and conditions to secure your room. You agree to sign the lease within 14 days of us collecting the deposit or any other period we agree to ("Period"). After signing the lease, your deposit will become a refundable security deposit. If your lease is a guaranteed short hold tenancy (AST) in England or an occupation tenancy in Wales, your deposit will be protected by a government-approved independent tenancy deposit protection scheme, such as the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS). Unless otherwise stated on the website, your deposit will be returned to you at the end of the tenancy if there is no outstanding debt or damage to your room and/or communal areas. By paying your deposit, you explicitly agree to us using the details you provide to search against sanctions lists maintained by the UK government, the US government, and other countries we choose, including the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). This does not affect your rights under the Data Protection Act 2018 or our obligations to you. You have the right to request that we do not conduct such searches, but this will prevent us from proceeding with your application. CRM will conduct relevant checks to confirm your university, then issue you with an accommodation offer, which you will receive via the student portal. Your online tenancy agreement outlines the full terms and conditions of your agreement with the landlord, your guarantor, and CRM Students Limited as an agent. Before uploading relevant identification documents, you need to log into your account, verify your details, read your lease, and sign the online contract. Unless you have a UK guarantor, you will be required to pay the full year's rent in advance. If you have a UK guarantor, you can pay rent in 3 or 4 installments. The first installment is due 5 weeks before the start of the contract. If not paid, you will not be able to move in. The second installment is due in September, the third in January, and the final installment in April. If for any reason we are unable to provide you with accommodation, we will contact you as soon as possible to explain the reasons or offer an alternative solution. If we cannot provide an alternative or it is not suitable, we will refund your booking deposit in full via the original payment method. 2 Cancellation by you - Cancellation during the cooling-off period: If you choose to cancel your booking at CRM Student Accommodation, you can cancel within 14 calendar days of receiving the original accommodation offer and receive a full refund of your booking deposit. If you booked less than 14 days before the intended move-in date, you can cancel until (a) 14 days after receiving the "Accommodation Offer" email and (b) the start date of the lease on the lease agreement, whichever is earlier. You can cancel by sending an email to the relevant accommodation office email address listed in the contact details for each accommodation on the www.crm-students.com website. If you cancel within the period specified in this policy, CRM Students will refund the deposit within 7 calendar days of the cancellation. If you cancel after the 14-calendar-day cooling-off period, you and your guarantor (if applicable) will need to fulfill the obligations set out in the lease agreement. 3 Cancellation before signing the lease: The landlord and CRM reserve the right not to refund the deposit and cancel the booking in the following circumstances: We take all reasonable steps to sign the lease by the deadline, but you fail to sign the lease by the deadline, for example, you fail to complete the application in a timely manner or provide guarantor details and proof documents; you provide us with relevant false or misleading information; and/or we are not allowed to enter into a lease agreement due to the provisions of the Immigration Act 2014. 4 Period from the time you sign the lease (including at the time of signing): If you have signed the lease and cancel the booking after the cooling-off period, we will release you from your contract until August 23, 2024 (inclusive), provided you meet the following conditions and can provide sufficient evidence: If you are a prospective first-year undergraduate student and the university/higher education institution you have chosen withdraws your offer due to you not meeting the required entry grades, or you have exceeded the required grades and choose to go to another university. To meet the standard, you need to provide a written rejection letter from your chosen university/higher education institution within 72 hours of the exam results being released and a copy of the new university's offer letter. If the evidence provided meets these terms and conditions and is reasonably satisfactory
