Hey hey, everyone! 👋 I'm a fresh graduate student at Manchester, just arrived not too long ago, it's been a bit over a week!
🇬🇧 Currently, I'm living in Kincardine Court Apartments in Manchester, in an ensuite room, sharing with two roommates—one from China, and the other, a dude from South Korea.
Picked this apartment after a good amount of browsing on their official website. You know how it is, trust your eyes more than your ears!
👀 Moved in on the 8th, so it's been almost 10 days. Wanted to share my experience settling in. 🏠
First off, gotta say, what attracted me to this place is that it got a facelift in 2022. Everything is pretty new—decor, facilities, all spick and span. First impression? Fantastic! ✨
Talking about lighting and ventilation, I'm on the 2nd floor, just right for me. Plus, the soundproofing is decent. Close those windows, and the outside hustle goes mute.
🔇 There's a slight flaw; sometimes you can hear sounds from the corridor quite clearly. Maybe the door's soundproofing is a tad lacking, but overall, it's alright.
The bathroom and kitchen facilities are top-notch, all very comfy. The bathroom is a bit cramped, showering feels a bit snug, but it's manageable.
🚿 My ensuite room isn't huge, but storage space is ample. Studios, I bet, have more space.
Now, about the front desk service, can't complain. Ask anything, get a helpful response. Attitude is superb, mostly foreigners, mainly white folks, really classy. 💁♂️
All in all, this apartment is great value. Not super luxurious, but a solid choice. More pros than cons.
👍 The photo is my own room, a bit messy, hope you don't mind!
Hope my sharing helps you, and may you all find the apartment of your dreams. 🏡 Just a reminder, studying abroad isn't a vacation, focus on your studies. Even if you live in luxury, it's just for a year or two, it's temporary. Find a cozy spot, don't compare, mindset is key, enjoy your student life! 🎓💪
