Cancellation Policy Your Cancellation Rights - If you wish to cancel your CODE apartment contract, you need to do so in writing to coventry@codestudents.co.uk or leicester@codestudents.co.uk within 7 days from the date of booking. Once beyond 7 days, or if you have accepted the online lease agreement, there is no longer a "cooling-off period," and Code Students will retain your deposit refundable. If you fail to provide the necessary correct information resulting in CODE Students canceling your reservation, your refundable deposit will also be retained. If you are "rebooking" (booking the same room for the next academic year), we will retain your refundable deposit if you choose to cancel later. If payment has not been made at the time of cancellation, relevant fees need to be paid according to our "early termination procedure." By accepting the lease agreement, you are entering into a legally binding contract, and the rent payments detailed in the lease agreement remain your legal responsibility. If you wish to cancel your tenancy, we will advertise the room you have chosen to reduce any potential loss to you - our client. However, until a new tenant is found, their relevant contract is accepted, and rent is paid according to the contract, you are still liable to pay the full rent as per your contract. CODE reserves the right to decide when and how to market your room. CODE Student will promptly notify you of any potential new tenants and inform you in writing after the new tenant signs the contract, after which you will not be liable for any outstanding payments specified in your signed contract. However, this level of communication is not guaranteed, and if it cannot be achieved, CODE will not be liable. Additionally, once the tenant accepts their lease agreement, we will charge an early termination fee, either a) one week's rent (prior to April 24, 2024) or b) £400 (from April 24, 2024), if the tenant cancels or fails to provide the necessary correct information resulting in CODE Student canceling the reservation. CODE Student will retain part or all of the £400 lease deposit to cover the costs of canceling the reservation.
