In this adventure, we set off from York and headed towards Durham, experiencing a journey through time from ancient to modern. Upon arrival in Durham, our main destination was Durham Cathedral, a sacred building witnessing historical changes. It's also been a filming location for the corridors of Hogwarts in Harry Potter, making us feel like we've stepped into that magical world. After spending nearly two hours there, we set off for Newcastle.
Arriving in Newcastle, I felt a similar vibe to Glasgow, as if I'd suddenly leaped from the tranquility of the countryside into the hustle and bustle of a modern city. We visited the iconic Tyne Bridge and the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, both enchanting in the night. The next day, we went to the east coast of Newcastle, enjoying the lighthouse and savoring seafood. Tynemouth/Whitley Bay St Mary Lighthouse became a highlight of this trip.
Our journey also included a visit to Newcastle University, where we immersed ourselves in its academic atmosphere. We enjoyed delicious roast meats and Hong Kong-style dim sum in Chinatown, where food always lifts the spirits. This romantic trip with my roommates was filled with happiness, reminding me of the wonderful moments of student life and studying abroad.
Each stop left unforgettable memories, from the solemnity of ancient cathedrals to the grandeur of modern bridges, from the tranquility of the seaside to the bustle of the city. This journey made us cherish every moment spent together even more.
