As someone who has studied abroad, I would like to add 🙋♀️, this is for reference only~
🌸Before Going Abroad
💎Took the IELTS exam twice, passed the speaking part on the second attempt, very happy about it! Some classmates found it easier to pass the exam in smaller provinces, but it depends on individual circumstances.
💎Applied to 6 universities through an agency, spent around 10,000 RMB. I knew my abilities were limited, so I didn't apply to prestigious schools like Oxford or Cambridge, only applied to regular QS top 100 ranked universities.
💎Visa and medical expenses added up to around 6,000 RMB.
🌸After Going Abroad
💎Tuition fees are approximately 20,000 pounds, which is around 170,000 RMB. The fees vary depending on the chosen major.
💎Rented a house with classmates in a non-London area, paying around 145 pounds per week, signed a 51-week contract, totaling around 63,000 RMB. If choosing a room with an en-suite bathroom, the price might be slightly higher, while a private apartment would be more expensive.
💎For living expenses, if cooking for myself, I need to spend around 150-200 pounds per week, which is around 60,000-80,000 RMB.
🌸Additional Expenses
💎In terms of shopping, I like to buy small cosmetics and skincare products, not much into luxury items, occasionally dining out. I spend around 100 pounds per month, approximately 10,000 RMB.
💎Regarding travel, it's very cost-effective to travel within Europe from the UK. During the Easter holiday, I visited Italy, Spain, and France, spending around 30,000-40,000 RMB for a week.
🌸Overall, the total expenses for a year amounted to approximately 370,000 RMB. When I went abroad, my mom provided me with a lump sum of 400,000 RMB as a guarantee and living expenses. When I returned to China, I had around 20,000-30,000 RMB left.
