I encountered a challenge while searching for accommodation in Nottingham this autumn.
🌈I have encountered a dilemma~
A classmate told me, "Sis, I have a budget of £200 per week and I'm looking for a suitable studio. Can you recommend one for me? I don't consider N2, and I'm not considering anywhere near the university either."
First, I recommended Radford Mill. It offers great value for money, with studios available for just over £200 per week, offering a spacious 40 square meter room. It's conveniently located for both the university and the city center, with a bus stop right outside the door. The street downstairs is filled with convenience stores and eateries, and there are many Chinese international students living there as well.
My classmate said, "Sis, I don't like it here. It feels like being stuck between a rock and a hard place."
I suggested Talbot Street then. It's located in the city center and offers free bi-weekly cleaning services. It's also a hotel-style apartment, allowing for hassle-free move-in. They even have a sauna room and a mahjong table. There's a bus stop right downstairs, making commuting convenient as well.
My classmate said, "Sis, I heard there's a cemetery nearby. I'm superstitious, so I can't consider it."
I then suggested Hydrogen. It fits within your budget, has a trendy apartment design, and has received great reviews. It's located in the city center, within walking distance to Victoria Shopping Center, fulfilling your everyday needs for dining, entertainment, and shopping.
My classmate said, "Sis, but I don't like the colors of their studio. They're too strange."
I then said, "How about Nova? It's a popular apartment building among Chinese international students, and it's quite trendy."
My classmate said, "Sis, I heard that the elevator breaks down every day at Nova, and the studio windows can't be opened. I can't consider it."
I said, "Well, if you're willing to increase your budget a bit, York House is really good. It has a 24-hour gym and brand new apartments. The front desk and property services are highly praised."
My classmate said, "No, Sis. I can only afford £200."
Now, it seems that the more expensive York House is sold out,
and the less ventilated Nova is fully occupied with the desired layouts.
Talbot Street, with the cemetery nearby, is also mostly occupied.
❤️Finally, my classmate asked me, "So, do you have any other recommendations? Oh, by the way, Sis, I have OCD, so I can't use the communal laundry machines in student apartments~"
I wonder, where else can she live~ I'm stumped [crying laughter R]
