There are mainly four sources for renting in Cambridge: 1️⃣ College Accommodation: After enduring the test of time for over 800 years, the quality of rooms in Cambridge college accommodations varies from one college to another. Some colleges have a larger number of high-quality rooms, which are highly sought after. The quality of different college accommodations may differ, but overall, they offer good value for money. (Details can be found in the attached image) 2️⃣ University-owned Properties: If students prefer not to live in college accommodations due to factors such as unavailability, high prices, or distance from their department, they can search for properties owned by the University on the Cambridge University website. Alternatively, they can find listings directly from private landlords verified by the University (without having to pay agency fees). You don't need to worry about the credibility of landlords in this case, but it is important to communicate with them via email in advance and arrange a viewing. Once both parties agree, a tenancy agreement can be signed to finalize the rental process. ✍️ 3️⃣ Off-campus Student Apartments: Some student apartments in Cambridge offer better living conditions than college accommodations. Rightmove is the largest property agency information platform in the UK, similar to Rightmove, Zoopla is another well-known property agency information platform in the UK. Gumtree is the largest platform for second-hand information in the UK and also provides rental information. You can also find rental information on platforms like Xiaohongshu, Facebook, and other social media platforms.
