Not the UK 🇬🇧 I imagined
✅ Recently, I've seen many reflections from overseas students:
❎ Studying abroad didn't teach them much about culture
❎ They didn't experience the confidence of the BBC
❎ They haven't had the opportunity to engage in high-end social circles
❎ They feel more loneliness and depression
🔥 My advice is to hang in there
After the storm, there will be a rainbow. Let me share my personal experience. I went to the UK in 2001 when the exchange rate was 1:16 (can you imagine that?). We didn't have WeChat, so we had to buy phone cards. Just keeping in touch with my family cost over 100,000 RMB. Comparing that to now, we are much happier and it's much more convenient and cost-effective!
🇬🇧 It was almost impossible for us to stay back then. As an ordinary child from an average family, it was a struggle to make a living in the UK. In China, you are a child, protected and cared for. So, when you go abroad, there will inevitably be a sense of disparity. But people have to grow up eventually, and the earlier, the better. London doesn't have Shanghai's high housing prices. Steadily study, find a reliable partner for work, and together strive to buy a house in the UK, it's not difficult.
🚆 I once thought about going back, and my family advised me as well, but I wanted to make my own way and not return empty-handed!! These years have truly been full of challenges and hardships, but I've overcome them all. Now, life in London is stable 🏠
Believe in yourself, and you will definitely succeed. Because I am ‼️‼️‼️
