It can't be because of the price, duplexes aren't as expensive as you'd think. As you can see from the picture, the apartment isn't really high-end, but it's not bad either. The two-bedroom unit also comes with a study, and it's a north-south facing unit with large windows and floor-to-ceiling windows, but it's still very private. Plus, it's only a 10-minute drive to UNSW and a 20-minute drive to the University of Sydney, so it's not too far away and the rent isn't too expensive either! There are shopping malls and shopping centers nearby, so my mom doesn't have to worry about me going hungry.
