Isn't "Little Shanghai" in Sydney amazing? Average rent is 500pw+ per person.
I just can't understand why some students insist on renting near the University of Sydney and the University of Technology Sydney. Can't they just take a bus? Renting near the city is ridiculously expensive, and it's not easy to find a place. Even if you find a slightly cheaper option without air conditioning, it's really not worth it!!
Renting in the "Ashfield" area is really great~ This place can be called the Shanghai of Sydney - the apartments are not run-down, and it's actually a luxurious area. It may be small, but it has everything you need - various food restaurants, Chinese supermarkets, fitness centers, swimming pools. It's not much different from the city, right?
Is it far from the universities? Buses can take you directly to USYD and UTS in just 20 minutes. Isn't that much better than those areas like Mascot and Zetland, which take 30 minutes to reach the universities?
