Safety for students is always our top priority. iQ Student Accommodation implements proactive fire safety measures, ensuring that all properties are confirmed safe for living by independent fire engineers. These measures include: Smoke or heat detectors are available in the design of bedrooms, kitchens, and certain buildings, and may also include sprinkler systems, wet risers, and automatic smoke ventilation systems. We have fire detection systems in all buildings. On-site staff receive 24-hour training to proactively address fire safety issues, including responding to fire alarms, conducting orientation training for residents, routine building inspections, weekly bell testing, and fire drills. In most of our buildings, fire alarms are connected to a central monitoring service via Red Care. All fire safety systems are maintained and serviced according to UK standards, and are solely managed by national contractors (employing qualified personnel with certifications). Fire safety systems in iQ Student Accommodation are also subject to regular inspections by external qualified risk assessors, and audits by internal health and safety officials.
