Our top priority is always the safety of our students. iQ Student Accommodation takes rigorous fire safety precautions, and all properties are certified safe for habitation by independent fire engineers. Specific measures include: Smoke or heat detectors may be installed in each bedroom and kitchen according to building design, as well as sprinkler systems, wet risers, and automatic smoke ventilation. All buildings feature a fire detection system. On-site staff are trained 24/7 to proactively handle fire safety issues, including responding to fire alarms, conducting resident induction training, performing regular building inspections, testing alarms weekly, and carrying out regular fire drills. Fire alarms in most of our buildings are connected to a central monitoring service via Red Care. All fire safety systems are maintained and serviced daily to UK standards, and only national contractors (employing personnel with certified qualifications) are responsible. The fire safety systems in iQ student accommodation undergo regular inspections from external qualified risk assessors and are audited by internal professional health and safety officers.
