The tranquil Saint-Sauveur - Fondaudège community is vibrant, with colorful, cozy bistros, casual cafes, and trendy burger ts lining the streets. On Galien Street, one of Bordeauxs main thoroughfares, youll find various butcher shops, bakeries, vege shops, and traditional cheese shops. The area is also home to remnants of a Roman theater: the Palais Galien, as well as the Saint-Sauveur Cathedral, an ancient building with features dating back to the 11th century! Despite the cathedral attracting many tourists and being listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, this neighborhood remains a very peaceful part of Bordeaux. From this historic Bordeaux community, you can easily reach the upscale districts of Grand Hommes and Quinconces, as well as the residential areas of Croix-Blanche and Meriadeck. Although the neighborhood is equipped with schools, medical facilities, and shops, residents can easily reach other parts of the city in just a few minutes. In fact, the B tram line going through "Gambetta Square" can take you to the Bassin area, known for its scenic Garonne riverbanks, while in the other direction lies the campus of the University of Pessac. Additionally, you can explore other areas of Bordeaux from Saint-Sauveur via six different bus routes!
