Regarding studying abroad in the UK and facing various mockery from relatives, I want to tell all fellow international students that when studying abroad, either cut off all connections with your home country or practice being immune to negativity. Personally, I also work part-time in local rental housing, and it's really difficult to endure at times.
Because you never know which classmates or relatives might make you feel uncomfortable for several days. Last time, many friends advised me not to mind it, and I also thought the same, but couldn't do it.
The more you try to prove yourself, the more you care, which affects your studies. Even when sleeping, you think about these things. It's too fragile. It's the first time I've felt the pain of being fragile. I won't proactively share anything with others, and I don't have many local friends from studying abroad. It's basically the same routine every day.
What I want to say the most is to block out everything from my home country, especially class group chats. Due to the time difference, occasionally checking them might hit you hard. Finally, I understand why people say that studying abroad means losing friends, as distance can overcome everything.
I wish all of you smooth progress in your study abroad journey, passing exams without failing, and achieving high scores in every subject.
