In the YOUR PAYMENT SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN section, you can find the deadline for paying the rent and the corresponding amount. The date format is day/month/year, and the amount is the rent to be paid.

What is the health check for bookings in popular cities?

Students who have already booked accommodations with Unite Students should note that to create a fair living environment, the property will conduct 3 random inspections within a few weeks after booking (recently booked students may also be selected for inspection). The specific details are as follows: 1. Inspection methods: via email/phone etc. 2. Materials students need to prepare: university admission letter or screenshot from the university portal showing the student's name and sufficient information to confirm that the application process has been completed. 3. Third-party verification: for a small number of students, the property may verify the authenticity of student information with their university. If students do not respond to any of the 3 contacts, the booking will be marked as suspicious, and if the student cannot be reached, the booking will be canceled. Please be mindful to check the contact information provided during the application process for any messages from the property, and reach out to your advisor immediately if there are any issues!

How to pay rent?

Rent at the property can be paid in two ways: online payment or bank transfer. 1. Online payment: log into your Unite Students account, go to the Payments page, enter the amount for rent in the dialog box, click the Pay button and input your card details. If you are using a UK debit card, choose the Debit option; if you are using a Chinese credit card, select the Credit option (billing address should remain in China). 2. Bank transfer: log into your Unite Students account, go to the Booking page, download the Bank Transfer Info document, communicate with your bank, and bring the necessary documents to the bank counter or self-service terminal for the transfer. Make sure to include your booking information in the payment reference (as per requirements in the bank_transfer_info document). Bank transfers are not instant; ensure that you do this 1-2 weeks before the deadline to make sure the funds arrive on time. Note that banks charge fees for overseas payments, so ensure that the total amount paid includes both rent and fees.

What if my check-in time does not match my booked time, and can I check in outside of working hours?

If you arrive on the day but are just late by several minutes to a few hours, you can wait at the front desk, and staff will assist you after they finish with other students’ bookings. If you are not arriving on the same day, please go to the Unite APP's check-in summary, click 'Edit', and select a new check-in time that suits you. The property will also provide emergency contact details at the entrance or front desk, which you can call. Alternatively, you can call the property’s emergency control center at 03003031611 (UK number), and they will coordinate staff to assist you.

Is the advance rent that I pay when booking a deposit? How can I refund it?

Advance rent is the rent you pay before moving in and functions as a deposit. After you successfully check in, the advance rent will be deducted from your rent and will not be refunded.

I have a special promotion for the apartment when booking, how can I redeem it?

Please refer to the promotion details provided by the apartment during your booking and follow the guidelines to redeem it with the apartment.

Do I just need to pay the amount requested by the apartment?

The amount to pay depends on your payment method, and you must ensure that the rent amount matches what the apartment requires. For instance, if using international bank transfers, intermediary banks may charge fees, so ensure the payment is the total rent plus fees to avoid an outstanding balance.

You can check in on the day the rental contract begins. If you arrive at the apartment outside business hours, it is best to inform the apartment in advance to arrange your check-in.
