Our top priority is always the safety of students. iQ Student Accommodation implements highly proactive fire safety measures, with all properties certified safe for habitation by independent fire engineers. These measures include: Depending on the building design, each bedroom and kitchen and certain buildings may be equipped with smoke or heat detectors, as well as sprinkler systems, wet risers, and automatic smoke extract ventilation. All our buildings have fire detection systems. On-site staff undergo 24-hour training to actively manage fire safety issues, including how to respond to fire alarms, onboarding residents, regular building inspections, weekly bell tests, and periodic fire drills. In most of our buildings, fire alarms are connected to central monitoring services via Red Care. All fire safety systems are maintained daily according to UK standards and are managed by national contractors employing certified personnel. The fire safety systems in iQ student accommodations are regularly assessed by external qualified risk assessors and audited by internal health and safety professionals.
