What is the health check for booking in popular cities?

Students who have booked a Unite Students apartment are advised that, to create a fair living environment, the apartment officials will conduct 3 sample checks on students who have already booked within a few weeks after booking (students who booked earlier may also receive checks). The specific details and processes are as follows: 1. Sampling method: Email/phone, etc; 2. Materials students need to prepare during the sampling: university acceptance letter or screenshot of the university portal (which must show the student’s name and enough information to confirm that the application process is complete); 3. Third-party verification: For a small number of students, the apartment may verify the authenticity of the student's information with their university. If a student does not respond to any of the 3 contacts, the apartment will mark the booking as questionable, and if the student cannot be reached, the apartment will cancel the booking. Please remember to check the phone number and email you provided during the apartment application process, and contact your advisor promptly if you have any issues!

How to pay rent?

There are two ways to pay rent at the apartment: online payment or bank transfer. 1. Online payment: Please log into your Unite Students account, click on the Payments page, enter the amount of rent you need to pay in the dialog box, click the Pay button, and enter your payment card information. If using a UK debit card, select the Debit card option (the corresponding Billing address needs to be changed to a UK address); if using a Chinese credit card, select the Credit card option (Billing address remains as a domestic address). 2. Bank transfer: Please log into your Unite Students account, click on the Booking page, download the Bank Transfer Info file, communicate with the bank in advance, and bring the necessary materials to the bank counter or use the self-service transfer machine for remittance. Pay attention to fill in personal booking information in the remittance note (refer to the requirements in the bank_transfer_info file). The bank transfer is not real-time; please ensure to make the transfer 1-2 weeks before the deadline to ensure funds arrive on time. As banks charge fees for cross-border payments, please ensure to transfer the rent amount plus the fee, ensuring the full amount arrives.
