Refund Policy
Before August 1, 2024 Booking - 14 Day Cooling-off Period You can email the accommodation team directly to cancel your booking within 14 days after signing the lease. If you decide to cancel within these 14 days, you'll receive a full refund of the deposit paid. If you decide to cancel your booking after the 14-day cooling-off period and any of the following occur, the following process will apply. - Your UK visa application is rejected. - You fail to obtain the qualification certificate required for entry into your first-choice university. - You fail to pass the relevant English language course required by the university. - University admission is deferred. If you've been allocated accommodation but are unable to continue your chosen higher education due to any of the above reasons, you must send formal written evidence directly to the accommodation team from the relevant university and/or UCAS and/or VISA institution/embassy within 5 calendar days of receiving the decision notice. If you provide sufficient evidence and it is accepted by the accommodation team, you'll be eligible to cancel the lease unconditionally, and the deposit will be fully refunded. Government travel restrictions to the UK prevent you from traveling. If you've been allocated accommodation but are unable to travel to the UK for university courses due to government travel restrictions, you must send formal written evidence from the selected higher education institution to the accommodation team before the lease start date, proving that you have canceled your studies and will not be attending university during the 24/25 academic year. Once sufficient evidence is provided, you'll be eligible to cancel the lease and receive a full refund of the deposit. You may request to defer the rental start date to the first day of the month when restrictions are lifted and you can travel to the UK. You need to submit an application to the accommodation team before the rental start date. Once sufficient evidence is provided to the accommodation team, we will modify your lease start date and send you a confirmation letter. Change of mind Booking alternative accommodation If you do not wish to reside at Allied Student Accommodation for any of the above reasons, you'll need to find an alternate tenant to take over your remaining lease term. The replacement tenant must be a student. The replacement tenant must sign the lease for the entire remaining term. Additionally, a deposit must be paid. If a suitable replacement tenant is found, you'll be released from the contract agreement, and Allied Student Accommodation will fully refund your deposit. Please note that if any accommodation fees remain unpaid or if any damage occurs to the property, your deposit will be retained until all outstanding fees are settled. Bookings After August 1, 2024: For bookings on or after August 1, 2024, your cooling-off period will be shortened to 48 hours after booking. If you decide to cancel within 48 hours, we will fully refund your deposit. If you wish to cancel after 48 hours, the above policy will depend on individual circumstances. There may be loss of the deposit. Illness: If you decide to leave the accommodation due to illness, we will assess the situation on a case-by-case basis. You must inform the accommodation team of your illness as soon as possible. You must apply in writing directly to the accommodation team and attach the necessary medical evidence documents. If the contract release is not approved, you'll be responsible for finding a replacement tenant for the remaining lease term. If we approve the contract release, you'll receive a refund of your deposit, provided the accommodation is left in satisfactory condition, and there are no outstanding balances on your account.
