🚗 Attention, buddies traveling between Brisbane and the Gold Coast! Traffic info is here! ✈️
📍 The journey between Brisbane Airport and the Gold Coast takes about two and a half hours. You can choose a two-hour train ride plus half an hour on the light rail. At the airport, you can directly purchase train and light rail tickets to the Gold Coast, and credit card payment is accepted. However, if you plan to take the theme park bus, you'll need to get a "Go Card" as credit cards aren't accepted.
🎡 Brisbane's top attractions: If you're heading to the theme parks, getting a combo ticket is more cost-effective. Sea World is relatively small; half a day is enough for all the attractions. The helicopter experience inside is a must-try, only 160 Australian dollars for ten minutes. Movie World is more extensive; plan a whole day as queues can be long for each attraction. Also, don't miss the Q1 observation deck, a full-day pass is around 31 Australian dollars, highly recommend dining at the restaurant inside, affordable and tasty.
🍽️ When in Brisbane, indulging in local delicacies is a must! "The Tropic" is a renowned restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere; the food is good, especially the bread. However, if you want an outdoor seat for good photos, make a reservation in advance, as they're close and have strong backlighting. Also, Seascape restaurant above Surfers Paradise is okay, but o bagel in Brisbane didn't live up to the hype; coffee wasn't great.
Highly recommend Felons Barrel Hall in Brisbane; it's a large venue under the Story Bridge, offering everything from coffee to meals to drinks at reasonable prices, and the scenery is fantastic.
Accommodation: Stayed at Voco on the Gold Coast, facilities are a bit old, and they gave us a room with only one bed instead of the booked standard room 😅. If you book, make sure to call ahead. The hotel's location is good, breakfast is decent, but the Wi-Fi is poor!
Amora in Brisbane is excellent! A four-star hotel with affordable prices, new facilities, good service, though it's uphill a bit 🏠.
