Divorced families are preparing to go abroad because they had an argument with my dad over money.

I recently got an offer from a school in the UK, and I have also found a good house to rent, but I need money for it and I don't want to ask my mom because I'm living with her. My dad has remarried and has a daughter now. We had agreed that my mom would pay for my tuition abroad and my dad would pay for the rent, but when I went to ask him for the money, he asked me how much I needed and his face went dark. He said I was selfish and didn't understand how hard it was for him. But what has he done for me since I was a kid besides giving me some pocket money? It was really hard for me and we had a fight, so I went home without getting the money.
