Help! Why didn't anyone tell me before coming to London...
Hey everyone, before coming to London, I read a lot of guides, but now that I've actually lived here for a while, I feel like it would have been great if someone had mentioned these little details earlier. 👏🏻
1. Everyone knows that meat is more expensive than vegetables, but no one mentioned how limited the variety of vegetables is. 😱 It's mostly just cauliflower and spinach, and it gets boring after a while. Let's enjoy our veggies back home in China.
2. No air conditioning!! People who can't stand the heat will definitely appreciate this. The air conditioning in public places can freeze you, but once you're back in your room, it's hot. It's like the weird separate hot and cold water taps in the UK. So strange. 🚿
3. The windows that can be opened only have a small gap. Most student apartments are like this. 🪟
4. You have to press the button to cross the road. I hope I'm not the only one obediently waiting for the light to change at the intersection. 🚦
5. It's pointless to use an umbrella when it's raining because the wind is so strong it will just turn inside out. ☔
6. For those of us who use sanitary pads during our period, make sure to bring plenty from home! I haven't seen any pads here that are larger than size 350. 🥲
7. You can walk on the grass! Yes, you can actually walk on the grass! 🌱
8. Stores close early. Basically, when everyone has free time, they decide not to open their doors.
Hope these tips help! Enjoy your time in London! 😊
