📆We have now entered May, which is usually the peak season for student apartments. There are many options available at affordable prices during this time, and many students receive their offers around this period. Some students may not have received their offers yet, but they are already starting to look for housing.
😳However, this year is different! Due to the widespread impact of the pandemic and the new regulations that no longer recognize online courses, requiring students to study abroad in person, the rental market for this year's peak season arrived very early.
🔥In March, a large number of cost-effective student apartment buildings, such as Spring Mews, Pavilion Court in Wembley, Oxford Circus within walking distance to UCL, and Victoria Hall Kings Cross, had already sold out their studio units.
😭And now, entering May, many student apartments are already sold out, with only a few remaining units available. Of course, it is not uncommon for some apartments to hold back a portion of their rooms and release them at a later time with increased prices. Some apartments have already started doing this, but I won't mention any names.
💻The screenshots above are some recent chat records from students who have already booked their rooms. However, there are too many to include, so I selected nine representative ones to reflect the current situation in the London rental market. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that rent prices in London have reached a historical high this year, and this is supported by data from property management companies, as shown in image 9.
🥰Finally, I wish everyone can find their ideal home and settle in as soon as possible.
❗️Tips: Most private housing options have not released their rooms yet, so students looking for private housing should not be too anxious. It is still early to start searching for private housing, and it can be done at the end of the month or in June~
