This time we took a đ from York to Durham, experiencing a journey that transitions from ancient to modern. Arriving in Durham, our main stop was Durham Cathedral đ°, not only a historic church but also a filming location for the corridors of Harry Potter's school đĽ, making us feel like we stepped into a magical world. After spending almost 2 hours there, we headed to Newcastle.
Newcastle feels a lot like Glasgow, going from countryside to a modern metropolis đď¸ in an instant. We visited the iconic Tyne Bridge and Gateshead Millennium Bridge đ, which were especially enchanting under the night sky. The next day, we went to the coastline of Newcastle's east side, seeing the lighthouse đ and indulging in seafood đŚ. Tynemouth/Whitley Bay St Mary Lighthouse was one of the highlights of this trip.
We also visited Newcastle University đ, getting a feel for the academic atmosphere. We had delicious roast meat and Hong Kong-style dim sum đĽ in Chinatown đ, as good food always lifts the spirits. This romantic trip with my roommate was filled with happiness đ, reminiscing about our student days and missing the time of being international students ~ đ.
Every stop left us with wonderful memories, from ancient cathedrals to modern bridges, from tranquil coastlines to bustling cities. This trip made us cherish our time together even more đ.
